 Return of the UFO's
Will 20 UFOs become a third life? Having spent their second life for a timeperiod of 13 years in Greece, being nicknamed UFO because of the high driver position, 20 V200.1 have returned to Germany after a nine day journey over sea.

PEG buys 20 V200s from Greece
All 20 of the V200s on the Greek Railways OSE have been bought by the Prignitz Railway Company (PEG) for the amount of about 470.000 Euro. These locomotives have been in Athens standing unused for several years. At the end of May 2002 they were moved to Elefsina Harbour for a nine day journey to Wismar and on June 4th they were back on German soil.
 How it all started
On May 22nd I received an email from a Greek railway friend that some V200s were on their way from Athens to Elefsina Harbour where they were to be loaded onto a ship bound for Germany. The locomotives were transported from the Rendis Depot to Elefsina by rail. As the V200s had no brakes, they were moved by two OSE locomotives with one in front and the second on the rear. Elefsina Harbour has no rail connection so the last bit was done by special road trucks. On Friday May 24th all of the locomotives were loaded onto the vessel Marinus Green, which sails under Dutch flag.

In the night of June 3/4 the ship with its precious cargo arrived in Wismar. The next morning they immediately began to unload the locomotives. After only half the morning had passed 7 of the V200s had already been offloaded and the job was be finished that same day. The next day the first 4 were transported from Wismar to Putlitz by two so called East-V200. The train had the following configuration: ImoTrans V200.06, 430, 413, 425, 424, PEG V200.05.
